CSIST has been commissioned to dedicatedly research and develop weapon systems for national defense in the past. Looking back the 38 years history, all the staffs of CSIST have devoted to their works with full hearty endeavor. The results were the accumulation of abundant R&D capacities, and the glory achievements of weapon systems research and development. Most of the indigenous equipments have been deployed and on service. The outstanding image of ‘weapon system navigator’ has been established ever since. Aiming at the transfer of defense R&D capacities to the civilians, CSIST has attended the of Ministry of Economic Affairs since 1995. By promoting the dual-use technologies, the technologies of domestic companies can be upgraded in order to increase their international competition strength, so that the markets can be explored and new industry can be emerged. CSIST has worked with more than 300 companies in 1999 to 2006 periods. There were 84 significant investment projects had been prompted. The total capitals of investment were NT﹩150 hundred millions. The overall industry benefits were worth some NT﹩1200 hundred millions. Therfore, the contributions to push of industry innovation, creation of industry values, and buildup of beneficial dual-use industry environment were seen obviously. The accomplishments have been complimented and supported by the public, and let the dual-use effectiveness be shining as well.

Goal
To promote the technology, R&D achievements and facilities of weaponry development to government organizations and civil sector. Meanwhile, help the industry breaks technological bottleneck and upgrade industrial level.
