The Long-Yuan research division is one of 4 open divisions in Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology. It started operation on 10/23/1996 with administer office, various kind of labs and facilities for use. Besides providing technology service, Long-Yuan also help the stationed business to obtain the support from national level R&D capacity. Better, new multi-media international conference hall and other conference room facilities are very suitable for seminars.

With cooperation with SMEA, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Long-Yuan incubation center is founded in 1998. The expectation is using all resources to foster young pioneers and small and medium-size business to reach new business.

The incubation center is located in Longtan, and surrounded by a lot of industrial districts. In the initial stage, electric technology is the main operation area, especially on wireless communication and information. As grew with the division, the center gradually expanded and evolved into electron, communication, information, mechanism, chemical engineering, material and other dual-use technology areas. It makes the center has more incubation energy and backup supports.

At present, the number of total incubation business is 53. The R&D areas include wireless wide-band, GPG, image monitor, infrared rays heat image, RF test authentication, Bluetooth wireless, electric material and so on. The total investment capital reaches 4.5 billions till now. Among 33 graduated companies, 3 are listing, 1 has been merged, and 1 establishes R&D center donated by the Minister of Economic Affairs.
