The intellectual property management office (IPMO) was established in April of 2005. The major responsibilities of IPMO are follows:

1. Management of CSIST IP:
• R&D achievement management system build up.
• R&D achievement management regulation draw up.
• R&D achievement ownership management.
• R&D achievement inventors management.
• R&D achievement essential information management.
• R&D achievement announcement.
• R&D achievement protection and assessment.
• R&D achievement application, registration, obtainment, maintenance and guarantees.
• Non-competition clause draw up and personnel management.

2. Promotion of IP & Technology Service:

• Set up IP training, technology evaluation, patent analysis and industrial analysis programs for private sector and academic institutes.
• Set up patent analysis and technology evaluation for MND.
• Member of patent infringement determination agency certified by Judicial Yuan. Evaluate the patent infringement for private sector.
• In charge of 2005, 2006 and 2007 Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart for MND. In exhibition, the capabilities of patent, product and service which belong to MND, if possible sign mutual interest contract.
